What's In this Release?

The following features are supported in this release of the PCoIP Software Client for Linux:

Platform Support

Linux Ubuntu 18.04 is supported.

Connectivity

Three different connection types are supported:

  • PCoIP Cloud Access Software (Direct to host VM or brokered)
  • Remote Workstation Cards
  • Amazon Workspaces (with MFA)

Connectivity to Amazon Workspaces with Multi-Factor Authentication

PCoIP Software Clients can now connect to Amazon Workspaces without requiring PCoIP Connection Manager for Amazon Workspaces. Additionally, the client supports multi-factor authentication when connecting to Amazon Workspaces.

Extensions and Peripherals

Virtual Channel SDK plugins are supported. Copy and Paste (with local clipboard), Audio Out and Audio In peripherals are supported.

Image/Display Capabilities

The PCoIP Software Client for Linux supports Quad Display, Fullscreen One Monitor, Minimize Display and Enhanced A/V Sync.

Configuration Tools

The PCoIP Software Client for Linux supports Time Zone Redirection, Security Mode, Log Levels and the Support Bundler Tool.

Session Behavior Takeover Change

A slight behaviour change has been made to the session takeover feature. If a client connects to a remote desktop that is already connected to another client, the previous connection is closed and a new connection is established with the new client.

Previously the remote desktop window on the first client would fade to black when the connection is closed and a dialog informed the user "You have been disconnected because you logged in from another location". The dialog now remains but the remote desktop window is closed immediately.

Features Not Supported in the PCoIP Software Client for Linux

The following features are supported in the PCoIP Software Client for Mac and Windows but not yet in the Software Client for Linux:

  • Local Printing
  • USB Redirection
  • USB Auto Forward
  • Wacom Tablet Support
