Installing or Uninstalling PCoIP Software Clients

In this section, you'll learn how to install and uninstall PCoIP Software Clients for both Windows and Mac.

Before You Begin

Before installing a PCoIP Software Client:

PCoIP Software Client for Windows

This topic describes how to install and uninstall the PCoIP Software Client for Windows.

You can install the PCoIP Software Client from the Windows installation wizard or the Windows command line.

  Note: Reinstalling or installing a previous version of the PCoIP Software Client for Windows

If you want to reinstall or install a previous version of the PCoIP Software Client, you must first manually uninstall the PCoIP Software Client for  Windows (see Uninstalling the PCoIP Software Client for Windows).

Installing from the Windows Installation Wizard

Use the following procedure to install the PCoIP Software Client from the Windows installation wizard.

To install the PCoIP Software Client for Windows from the wizard:

  1. Double-click the PCoIP Software Client installer executable (PCoIP_Client_installer.exe) to begin installation.
  2. Click Next at the welcome screen to launch the installation wizard.

  3. Accept the license agreement by clicking I Agree.

  4. Use the Browse button to select the folder in which to install the Teradici PCoIP Client, or accept the default, and then click Install.

  5. If you do not have the required Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package installed on your machine, the following wizard appears to install the necessary runtime libraries. Click Next.

  6. Select the I have read and accept the license terms check box, and then click Install.


  7. Click Finish to exit the Microsoft setup wizard.

  8. If desired, enable the Create Desktop Shortcut option, and then click Finish to exit the setup wizard.

If you created a desktop shortcut, the following icon appears on your desktop:

Installing from the Windows Command Line

You can also perform a silent installation of the Teradici PCoIP Client by typing the following at the command-line prompt:

<location>\PCoIP_Client_installer.exe /S

where <location> is the full path to the folder containing the Teradici PCoIP Client installer.

  Note: Silent installation does not provide options

The silent installation uses all the default options. For example, a desktop shortcut won't be created if you use the silent installation.

Uninstalling the PCoIP Software Client for Windows

Use the following procedure to uninstall the PCoIP Software Client for Windows.

To uninstall the PCoIP Software Client for Windows:

  1. On the Windows client machine, select Start > All Programs > Teradici > PCoIP Client Uninstall to run the uninstall script.
  2. When the uninstall script finishes, reboot to complete the uninstallation.

PCoIP Software Client for Mac

This topic describes how to install and uninstall the PCoIP Software Client for Mac.

If you want to reinstall or install a previous version of the PCoIP Software Client, you must first manually uninstall the PCoIP Software Client for Mac (see Uninstalling the PCoIP Software Client for Mac).

Installing the PCoIP Software Client for Mac

Use the following procedure to install the PCoIP Software Client for Mac.

To install the PCoIP Software Client for Mac:

  1. Copy the PCoIP Software Client disk image file (PCoIPClient.dmg) to your Mac desktop.
  2. Double-click the file to mount the volume.
  3. Accept the license agreement by clicking Agree.

  4. In the PCoIPClient volume window, drag the PCoIPClient icon into the Applications folder icon to install the program.

  5. If desired, you can also create an alias from this window:
    1. Double-click the Applications folder icon to open the folder.
    2. Right-click the PCoIPClient application in the list of applications, and then select Make Alias from the popup menu.
    3. Drag the alias to your desktop or Dock.
  6. To eject the volume when you are finished, drag it to the trash.

Uninstalling the PCoIP Software Client for Mac

Use the following procedure to uninstall the PCoIP Software Client for Mac.
