Teradici Remote Workstation Card Firmware 4.5.1 Release Notes

Release Status: General Availability (GA)

Release Overview: PCoIP Firmware 4.5.1 GA is a firmware release for Tera1 and Tera2 zero clients and host cards. This article will provide a summary of key feature additions, compatibility notes, and known issues for this firmware release.

Important Notes:

  • Firmware 4.5.1 ia a maintenance firmware release to address issues discovered in firmware 4.5.0.
  • Firmware 4.5.1 will be used as a minimum firmware required prior to moving to any newer release of PCoIP firmware.
  • Individual releases are provided for Tera1 and Tera2 processor-based products, and a combined format for PCoIP Management Console.

Tera1 Tera2 Workstation VDI
New Enable Gigabit Auto-Negotiation feature

This feature lets you select the maximum negotiated speed of the network interface for a Tera2 host card. When enabled ( the default), the maximum possible speed for the  network interface is 1 Gbps. When disabled, it is 100 Mbps.

This option is in the Administrative Web Interface in the Configuration>Network page.

BX10 SFP Support

For customers using small form-factor pluggable (SFP) Ethernet interfaces, this release now supports BX10 SFP modules for single-mode optical fiber.

This feature is included by default. No user configuration is required.

13187 - Devices will no longer crash as a result of password changes.

13100 - A PCoIP session will no longer freeze and get disconnected under severe network impairment. Previously when this occurred, the host and/or client logs are filled with messages indicating a prolonged RDMA full condition on the UFCC and/or FCC channel.

12860 - Resolved an issue where the Connection Management Interface could not be disabled. Disabling CMI using the AWI or OSD checkboxes had no effect.

13185 - Host cards no longer respond with incorrect monitor serial numbers while the host monitor emulation feature is enabled.

 
12752 - Tera2 host cards no longer prevent specific SFP modules from obtaining an IP address or prevent the Wake-on-LAN feature from working.

 
13212 - Addressed an issue where connecting to VMWare View servers may occasionally fail.

13220 - Users are now able to authenticate with CardOS Smart Cards after the card's certificates have been reissued.

This PCoIP firmware is compatible with the release of VMware Horizon View that was generally available when this firmware was released. It is also compatible with one major release of Horizon View prior to this. Other versions of Horizon View may also be compatible, but will need to be verified in your specific deployment environment.
The version of Horizon View available at the time of this firmware release was Horizon 6.0

Deployments using the PCoIP Management Console to manage Tera2 endpoints must use PCoIP MC release 1.8.1 or newer.

Using the latest release of the PCoIP Management Console is recommended.

Deployments using the PCoIP Management Console to manage Tera1 endpoints must use PCoIP MC release 1.7.0 or newer.

Using the latest release of the PCoIP Management Console is recommended.

Firmware 4.2.x - 4.5.x is not interoperable with firmware releases 3.0, 2.x, 1.x or 0.x.

Note: Firmware 4.5.1 must be installed before upgrading to future firmware releases.
