Management Console 1.10.0 Release Notes

Release Status: General Availability (GA)

Release Overview: PCoIP Management Console 1.10.0 GA is a minor release to support firmware 4.2.0 for Tera1 and Tera2 devices.

Note: There are individual releases for Tera1 and Tera2 processor-based products, and a combined package that can be uploaded to the PCoIP Management Console. The Management Console will intelligently apply the firmware based on the managed device processor type.

Web Interface Session Timeout

Added option to configure inactivity timeout period. Choose between 15 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours or disabled.

Login warning

To help prevent inadvertent logout of an active MC user, a new warning is displayed during login to inform the user if another user is currently logged in, the IP address from which they are logged in, and for how long they have been inactive.

Firmware patch support

Support for uploading firmware patch releases within a profile has been added.

Updated logo

The web UI displays the new Teradici logo

Firmware file type

The MC supports uploading Tera1 and Tera2 firmware combined files only (.pcoip extension). The MC no longer supports the .all file type.

PCoIP Utility Bar

There is an option to enable a drop-down PCoIP Utility Bar that can be used to disconnect a session, or to shut down a remote workstation.
Local USB audio support

There is now an option to locally terminate USB audio devices to improve performance and interoperability which is enabled by default.
Event Log Filter Mode

Now a new option to disable device event logging.

This PCoIP firmware is compatible with the release of VMware Horizon View that was generally available when this firmware was released. It is also compatible with one major release of Horizon View prior to this. Other versions of Horizon View may also be compatible, but will need to be verified in your specific deployment environment.

Deployments using the PCoIP Management Console to manage Tera2 endpoints must use PCoIP MC release 1.8.1 or newer.

Deployments using the PCoIP Management Console to manage Tera1 endpoints must use PCoIP MC release 1.7.0 or newer.
Using the latest release of the PCoIP Management Console is recommended.

This release of the MC has been tested with firmware release 3.5.1, 4.0.3, 4.1.2, and 4.2.0.
It has also been tested with VMware Player version 4.0.6, VMware Player version 5.0.2, VMware Workstation version 7.1.4, and VMware ESXi version 5.1.0.
Instructions on how to run the MC virtual machine (VM) on ESXi are in the VMware ESXi user manual.
While mixed firmware release operation is not tested, firmware 4.2.x is compatible with 4.1.x, 4.0.x, 3.5.x, 3.4.x, 3.3.x 3.2.x and 3.1.x releases.

Firmware 4.2.x is not interoperable with firmware releases 3.0, 2.x, 1.x or 0.x.

11050. Resolved an issue where a dormant DHCP server package on the MC became active.
11004. Increased the maximum upload size for database archive files from 100 MB to 200 MB.
10870. Resolved an issue where importing databases created in PCoIP Management Console (MC)1.7.1 or earlier failed.
10720. FTP server settings have been updated to enable optional FTPS.

Profile application and/or Persistent auto-configuration may not fully complete if applying FW 4.1.2p1 to devices. Workaround: To apply FW4.1.2p1 use the Update tab in the Management Console or device web User Interface.
The PCoIP Management Console cannot be used to configure the IPv6 Gateway Address field. Workaround: Enable and configure DHCPv6 or SLAAC to set this field or configure the field statically using the device Administrative Web Interface.

Known Issues
When installing the Management Console using the VMware vCenter Converter Standalone the instructions on page 33 of the PCoIP Management Console Users Guide step 6 indicate that you can install directly to your ESXi host. Installing the Management Console directly to you ESXi host has not been tested and is not supported. Workaround: Use the VMware vCenter Converter Standalone to install the Management Console into vCenter.
Users can not log into the Management Console using Internet Explorer 9 and a host name. Workaround: Use the PCoIP Management Console's FQDN or IP address instead of the host name.
Heartbleed CVE-2014-0160 only affects Teradici PCoIP Management Consoles (MC) 1.9.0 to 1.10.0 using Ubuntu 12.0.4 LTS with OpenSSL package 1.0.1-4ubuntu5.1.0. Please open a support ticket at the Teradici support site to obtain a solution for this issue.
35311. Vulnerability scan will find CVE-2015-3306 ProFTPD mod_copy as a critical vulnerability. Workaround: Disable ProFTPD mod_copy function see KB 2751.
