Systems Engineer at North Kansas City Hospital drawn from nearly 1200 entries
Burnaby, British Columbia – October 10, 2013 – Teradici, the developer of the PCoIP® protocol, today announced the results of the company’s 1M Zero Clients Contest. To commemorate the shipment of one million PCoIP Zero Clients through its extensive network of ecosystem partners, Teradici invited contestants to enter for a chance to win a trip to VMworld Europe 2013 from October 14 through 16.
The contest winner – Artie Horn, Systems Engineer at North Kansas City Hospital – was chosen in a random drawing from nearly 1200 entries accepted from July 22 through September 23, 2013. Horn will join the Teradici team next week in Barcelona, Spain to celebrate the company’s one-millionth zero client milestone achievement, network with other IT professionals, and see firsthand the latest advancements in virtual computing.
“I have attended VMworld in the U.S. over the years, so I am thrilled to have the opportunity to attend VMworld Europe, and to travel outside of the U.S. for the first time!” said Horn. “I have the utmost respect for Teradici and the benefits of its technology, therefore I am especially pleased to accept this prize. Teradici’s partnership with Imprivata to enable No Click Access on PCoIP zero clients has been absolutely amazing – a huge win for us at North Kansas City Hospital. You’ve converged on a secure, efficient solution that enhances our quality of patient care.
“With PCoIP zero clients and ‘tap-in, tap-out’ badge access, doctors, nurses and clinicians can roam from location to location without the hassle of closing down electronic medical record applications or logging in and out. As the hospital’s IT administrator, I’ve appreciated how quick and easy it is to manage and deploy new PCoIP devices across the enterprise from a single integrated platform with the Teradici PCoIP Management Console.”
For over 55 years, North Kansas City Hospital has been at the forefront of providing medical care in the Northland. Specializing in cardiac care, oncology, women’s health, orthopedics and emergency services, its medical staff includes over 550 physicians representing 49 medical specialties. Over the past year, The IT team has deployed 700 PCoIP zero clients to enable more efficient use of computing resources at the hospital. Now, clinicians can start their day at any location and simply “tap-out” or “tap-in” throughout the day from any zero client to disconnect or reconnect to a fully restored session on their desktop with applications open, secure and ready to use.
With Teradici Healthcare Solutions, physicians and care providers can access vital information, anytime and anywhere – helping save lives and improve quality of care – all while increasing the security of patient information and reducing IT costs.
