Education programs are changing and growing rapidly to meet the demands of future jobs and employment criteria. Schools are becoming more diverse, demanding a modern and agile IT to provide the services that students and staff require, including the ability for students to bring their own device, learn from home or on demand.
K-12, higher education and specialized training institutions depend on PCoIP® remote desktops and workstations for ultra-secure access to learning and testing applications, regardless of where students are located or what devices they are using. From flight simulation programs, training labs, 3D animation or AutoCAD classes, Teradici solutions enable effective learning in the classroom or online.

Centralized computing makes the routine management of student labs and courseware significantly easier and allows you to scale up or down easily.
Manage student or teacher devices from the data center through a single management interface, eliminating the time and resources spent on OS, software updates and patches. Scale the deployment up for as many staff or students as needed, then scale down or deactivate users when the course or school year ends.
Like any other organization, schools and learning institutions also have a high demand for security. They need to protect their valuable IP, prevent exam theft, control learning materials and keep financial or medical records confidential.
Central computing means that no information leaves the data center or public cloud – adding a significant layer of protection against malfeasance. PCoIP technology encrypts and transmits only “pixels” across a standard IP network to PCoIP-enabled clients that decode and display those pixels. No data is stored locally – keep courseware, student data and testing materials secure while maintaining the application performance and user experience.
In the classroom, PCoIP Zero Clients have a small footprint -- around the size of a pocket book – which means workspaces can be more compact. Zero clients help you save on floor space costs, but they also produce almost no heat or noise compared to traditional towers or laptops. Keep the classroom quiet and help students focus on learning while reducing energy costs by 40% - 80%.
Have existing hardware? PCoIP technology supports any device and both Windows and Linux applications. There’s no need to purchase Windows laptops or PCs just to run Windows applications. Use your existing MacBooks or Chromebooks and access virtualized applications with the same user interface.
In the data center, PCoIP solutions like Cloud Access Software or Remote Workstation Cards enable higher hardware density, saving on data center space, cooling, power, maintenance and security.
PCoIP technology also protects your organization from emergencies like power outages or other interruptions in service. Easily redirect connections to teaching materials and desktops hosted on disaster recovery infrastructure and continue operations with minimal downtime.
Learning does not stop outside the classroom. Provide students with the freedom to access a desktop and courseware in the lab at school, or through their own soft client installed on a personal laptop, PC or tablet at any time. Even STEM subjects that require extra compute for large data sets or graphics-intensive applications can be virtualized and accessed from anywhere and on any device instead of utilizing expensive and hard to scale workstations.

BURNABY, BC --Teradici, the creator of PCoIP® technology and Cloud Access Software, announces its attendance at the 2018 SIGGRAPH Conference on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques, the world’s largest conference on computer graphics, in Vancouver, Canada from August 12-16.
Teradici’s trusted PCoIP® technology powers its Cloud Access Software, the leading remoting solution allowing users to deliver graphics-intensive applications from the public cloud or private data center with lossless image quality and true color accuracy. Users requiring graphics-intensive applications across industries like media & entertainment, government, oil & gas, and manufacturing have benefited from using the cloud for storage and rendering with workstations as they prepare to move to the cloud. The use of Cloud Access Software in high-performance, virtual workstations offers numerous benefits, including the ability to deliver a secure, highly-responsive and rich user experience for GPU-powered applications. If you have ever asked:
● How can artists, engineers and other power users address the insatiable demand for content and services?
● How can they work faster, smarter, and more securely in the cloud?
● How can they scale and de-scale workflows rapidly when projects come and go?
● How can they enable global creative talent across geographic boundaries?
Then come familiarize yourself with Teradici Cloud Access Software and learn more about high-performance apps in the cloud through one-on-one demos in Microsoft booth #620, AWS booth #701, Google booth #1423 or AMD booth #1101. Please also join us for the following presentation:
● “AWS Cloud Tech Talk: Going Remote: Running Virtual Workstations”

Video Editing and the Power of GPUs
Teradici has also worked with AWS to enable simple deployment of its Cloud Access Software for the industries that require a high-performing environment for video editing. Its latest collaboration with AWS is on the launch of a Quick Startsolution, which deploys a highly available architecture for cloud video editing on Amazon Web Services (AWS) powerful EC2 G3 GPU instances in about 30 minutes. With Teradici PCoIP technology, video editors can modify content on a remote workstation, avoiding large data transfers to and from a local machine.

There are significant security advantages that modern studios experience when they move to the cloud, and many studios are leveraging the cloud for their movie production needs.
● Entertainment And Construction Industries Leading The Future of Cloud
The flexibility of cloud computing allows for the rapid scaling of on-demand resources to accelerate project turnaround. When a post-production movie or TV studio is operating under an imminent release deadline, render farms can be quickly ramped up on a public cloud, then ramped down upon project completion to prevent ongoing costs. Content can also be visualized from the cloud itself using a high fidelity remote access protocol, which negates the need for shuttling media assets between the cloud and studio locations.
