ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - January 30, 2013 – Arrow Electronics Inc. (NYSE: ARW) today was named the exclusive master distributor in North America for Teradici, the developer of the PC-over-IP® protocol. Arrow also distributes Teradici in Europe.
“The addition of Teradici to our portfolio in North America brings more selling opportunities for solution providers in the virtualization market. This agreement also strengthens Arrow’s value proposition given our exclusive rights as master distributor,” said Mike Nowlan, vice president of the North American security, virtualization and networking practices for the Enterprise Computing Solutions segment of Arrow. “The easy-to-install Teradici APEX 2800 server offload card complements VMware View and reduces CPU (central processing unit) peaks for more manageable and reliable performance.”
APEX 2800, as well as the low-profile version of this solution, are available through Arrow’s ECS segment. The card dynamically offloads up to 100 most active displays to deliver an improved user experience, and more consistent application performance. The APEX 2800 can improve consolidation ratios by up to two times typical performance levels, such as when multiple users are watching videos simultaneously. It is compatible with all PCoIP zero clients and is fully integrated into VMware vSphere® with VMware View.
“Teradici is pleased to expand our relationship with Arrow given its long-standing commitment to delivering industry-leading virtualization solutions,” said Trent Punnett, vice president of marketing, product management and systems engineering, Teradici. “We look forward to working with Arrow and its solution providers in North America and Europe to bring Teradici PCoIP solutions to the marketplace.”
