Samsung Introduces VMware Ready™ Certified PC-over-IP® All-in-One Monitors for Ultra-Secure Remote Network Access
“Zero-client” displays provide PC-free access to servers, data centers, driving enterprise adoption of desktop virtualization
Ridgefield, NJ (Business Wire) May 4, 2010 -- Samsung Electronics America Inc., a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, has launched the NC190 and NC240 monitors to allow secure access to remote servers and data centers. The NC190 and NC240 19” and 23.6” zero-client displays are designed to provide an alternative to desktop PCs, enabling highly secure access to any PC-over-IP (PCoIP®)-enabled remote host. This allows users to connect to centralized servers, without the need for workstations on their desks.

Uncompromised user experience
The Samsung NC190 and NC240 contain a range of features providing an impressive user experience. They each offer a high definition picture ideal for CAD/CAM, graphic design and 3D rendering environments. Additional features designed to support user experience are the inclusion of four USB ports for easily added peripherals, a compact design maximizing desktop space, HD-ready video viewing and ultra fast response rates.
Exceptional security
Data is highly secure in the NC190 / NC240 environment. No data leaves the remote host or datacenter, ensuring that individual workstations cannot be hacked or infected with viruses or spyware. All images transmitted to the displays are encrypted, providing a highly secure connection. Additionally, USB authentication ensures that no unauthorized devices can be attached to the system. This makes them ideal for use in environments such as finance, government and military.
True zero-client
The Samsung NC190 and NC240 are true zero-client displays, allowing connections direct from the desktop display to a central host. The fanless screens contain no OS, drivers or hard drives. They provide a low-power alternative to traditional desktop computers while integrating seamlessly into existing systems which use PCoIP®-enabled rack workstations, towers or blade PCs. This reduces maintenance costs as all software installed on the server automatically extends to each user’s desktop.
