ELSA VIXEL series support VMware View™ 4 using PC-over-IP® zero clients for virtual desktop solution.
PCoIP® Solution products – ELSA VIXEL series brings high performance graphics on virtual desktop environment.
Tokyo, Japan, 26th Nov 2009 – ELSA Japan Inc, a leading company of computer graphic solutions (Tokyo, Japan CEO Jun Nagai) announced that ELSA’s VIXEL series remote 3D graphics solution powered by Teradici’s PC-over-IP (PCoIP®) technology will support VMware’s virtual desktop solution - VMware View 4.
The upcoming release of the PCoIP firmware 3.0 will allow ELSA VIXEL D200 desktop portals to connect to virtual desktops in VMware environments. PCoIP hardware zero clients enable maximum security, rich user experience, and reduce desktop management for a higher performance desktop environment than traditional thin client devices. VMware View 4 with the PCoIP protocol enables all graphics, rich media content, multi monitors, and USB functionality of a standard PC environment to be delivered on virtual desktops.
ELSA VIXEL series currently support remote workstation users in a hardware 1:1 environment (one host card to one desktop portal). VMware View 4 featuring software implementation of the PCoIP protocol will support 1:n (one-to-many) connections in a virtual desktop environment. VMware View manager offers IT managers the flexibility to manage both physical workstations with installed VIXEL H200 host card and virtual desktops in VMware View 4. ELSA VIXEL D200 is a hardware zero-client with no CPU, no HDD, and no OS − an enhanced security solution for VMware View 4 customers.
