Fujitsu Technology Solutions to Offer PCoIP Technology on Tower Workstation Platforms for Customers Worldwide
Burnaby, British Columbia April 20, 2009 – Teradici® Corporation, the industry leader in delivering a true PC experience over standard IP networks, today announced that Fujitsu Technology Solutions will provide Teradici’s
PC-over-IP® (PCoIP®) technology in its leading-edge CELSIUS workstations.
Fujitsu will offer workstation platforms incorporating PCoIP remote desktop technology across the entire CELSIUS product line. The PCoIP enabled workstations will improve security, reduce power requirements, and simplify management for Fujitsu customers who can apply remote computing technology in CAD/CAE, engineering, and other applications.
The CELSIUS Remote Access PCoIP host card is integrated into the centralized workstation, where it compresses and encodes the complete desktop environment including high-definition graphics, USB and audio. The encoded desktop is communicated in real-time over a standard IP network - such as an enterprise LAN or WAN - to the CELSIUS Remote Access PCoIP desktop portal, a small, stateless desktop appliance.
“Fujitsu is dedicated to delivering the optimal remote computing solution across the entire range of CELSIUS workstations, including high-end and mid-range workstation models,” said Wilhelm Geyer, Director Workstations at Fujitsu Technology Solutions. “We expect PCoIP remote computing to become added capability for a broad range of customers across a variety of markets.”
“Fujitsu’s adoption of PCoIP technology in their CELSIUS workstation platforms will offer exciting new advantages to customers in the markets such as energy, automotive, and aerospace who are looking for remoting capabilities immediately,” said Dan Cordingley, Teradici Corporation president and CEO. “We are pleased to make this announcement today with one of the global leaders in workstation design and development.”
Teradici’s PCoIP technology enables PCs and workstations to be centrally managed in a datacenter while providing high resolution, full frame rate 3D graphics and HD media, with full USB peripheral interoperability. PCoIP technology resolves the challenges of managing, maintaining and securing enterprise desktops, using a chipset that compresses and encodes the entire PC experience at the datacenter and transmits it over a standard IP network to stateless desktop devices. PCoIP solutions offer a true computing experience for the end-user while supporting the efficiency and security of centralized computing.
