Last week, Dell announced the latest Precision Workstation product supporting PC-over-IP (PCoIP) technology. Dell’s new platform is shown in the photo below. The R5400 rack workstation (shown on the left) and FX100 remote access device (middle) incorporate PCoIP hardware-based compression and decompression technology. This solution delivers the full power that workstation users are accustomed to — remotely, securely, and with no performance degradation. The R5400 marks the first PCoIP product available in a rack workstation form factor. Other partners continue to deliver PCoIP solutions in alternative form factors like blade PCs.
